Have you always been an avid cyclist? If not why did you start cycling?  No, I started Cycling in 2009. I started as part of a weight loss competition at work.

Have you always been competitive?  Nope, my competitive nature was born in 2011 when I participated in the Panhandle Pedalers Tour de Bakerton.
What were the reasons that drove you to join a race team?  Desire to participate in more competitive events and take my training and riding to the next level.
Have you raced much? Can you tell us some of your successes and failures that may have come along with racing?  Yes, I race a lot. 15-30 races per year. I am a middle of the pack finisher usually so the joy and satisfaction comes in finishing challenging races. I especially like multi-day stage races.
What has been most fulfilling in your time with the team?  Racing as a team. Team tactics don't play out very well in amateur racing, but when it does, boy is it fun!
Were you nervous about joining a team?  No, not really. When I joined I was determined to use my teammates as motivation to improve my skill and strength.
Why did you choose Team Integrity?  Close to home, and wonderful people. The club has changed a lot since I started racing, but we keep attracting wonderful people who are a delight to race and ride with.

I started cycling in 2007 when a friend talked me into a sprint triathlon and I borrowed her husband's bike. Have you always been an avid cyclist? If not why did you start cycling?
No. I was obese and not very physically active until 12 years ago when I started running and I took up cycling as a cross training routine, and then went into triathlons, and it was then that I discovered that cycling was something I was strong at.
Have you always been competitive?  Yes
What were the reasons that drove you to join a race team?  I was nervous about racing and I thought joining a team would help me better understand the dynamics and skills necessary for racing.
Have you raced much? Can you tell us some of your successes and failures that may have come along with racing?  I have averaged about 10 races per year since I started racing in 2011. Successes-2017 WV state champion in the 40+ age group.  Failures-My 2012 season was a disaster, I over trained and ended up giving myself rhabdomyolysis, and almost ended my cycling endeavors.

Have you always been an avid cyclist? If not why did you start cycling?
No, I have not always been an avid cyclist. Sure, I biked as a kid but didn't start biking as an adult until I was 51 or 52 and I'm 58 now. I started cycling again to become better fit. Sitting in an office all day tends pack on the weight.Have you always been competitive?
Yes I have been. As a kid I played soccer until a compound tib/fib fracture and getting a drivers license killed that. Like most, I then got married, had children and spent time doing family things along with work. In the early 90's I took up archery and eventually started doing 3D shoots which are courses set up with foam animals at unknown yardages. I became pretty decent at that and had won 4 state championships along with traveling to National shoots that were IBO and ASA sanctioned. I also shot a lot of indoor shoots at paper dots.
What were the reasons that drove you to join a race team?  When I started riding as an adult I had joined CVCC (Cumberland Valley Cycling Club). There were two folks there that were on Team Integrity and over the course of time they had said I was pretty strong and asked if I would like to be on the team.
Have you raced much? Can you tell us some of your successes and failures that may have come along with racing?  I've raced a bit but not as much as others on the team. I've been fairly successful in doing Time Trials and was the Mid-Atlantic Time Trial series champion in CAT5. Some failures. I could talk about the training crashes. As for failures when racings. I quickly found that I was not mean to be a crit or road racer. I've been pulled from crits and the one road race I did I was spat out the back fairly quickly.
What has been most fulfilling in your time with the team?  The camaraderie within the team and seeing others join the team and become successful. We had 3 women join the team in the past 2 years and 1 became the Mid-Atlantic TT series champion in CAT5, one took second in CAT5 and the other took second in CAT4, which is a very tough category. That rider has come a long way in the past 12 months. Very proud to see that.
Were you nervous about joining a team?  Absolutely but found that the others on the team had similar experiences as I did . They welcomed me and were as supportive as I could ask.
Why did you choose Team Integrity?  As I said, there were some riders on the Team that were on CVCC. I was then asked to ride with the team on several occasions and it felt like a good fit and that I could learn a lot from them
When did you start racing, and were you on a team at the time?  Yes, I was on Team Integrity

Cycling was recommended as physical therapy for a running related injury.

What were the reasons that drove you to join a race team?  Group ride experience and wanting to learn tactical aspect of racing
Have you raced much? Can you tell us some of your successes and failures that may have come along with racing?  I race way too much! Success - Won numerous WV state titles in the time trial and was a member of the 2013 US National Duathlon team. Failures - Struggle with hydration every day. Finished a couple races in the back of an ambulance. Also missed a bronze medal at Age Group World Championships due to a broken seat clip.
What has been most fulfilling in your time with the team?  Sharing of cycling knowledge...everything from mechanical to bike handling techniques

Have you always been competitive?  Yes
What were the reasons that drove you to join a race team?  I have always liked the team aspect and feel that this team does a great job at all levels at racing as well as putting on events
Have you raced much? Can you tell us some of your successes and failures that may have come along with racing? I have been racing for 28 years. I was an alternate for the ITU long course world championships for Team USA as well as a top level national runner while in the Marine Corps too. I have also had some very bad races where I was in shape to win and illness or poor performances left me with bad results and even a few DNF's. I have learned a lot more from the bad races and seasons then I have from the good one's so keep moving forward!
What has been most fulfilling in your time with the team? I have only been on the team for 2 seasons but I would definitely say being elected to the board and be able to chip in and help with policies the best I can.

Have you always been an avid cyclist? If not why did you start cycling?
Yes I've been on a bike for as long as I can remember. Once I got a little older I actually switched to riding dirt bikes, and now I am back as a cyclist.
Have you always been competitive?  Yes! I've played tons of sports while growing up and even worked for Professional Motocross. So far my entire life has evolved around some type of sport.
What were the reasons that drove you to join a race team?  When I actually got in cycling again, I really wasn't sure who there was to ride with in my area. So I reached out to my local bike shop and he pointed me in the right direction.
Have you raced much? Can you tell us some of your successes and failures that may have come along with racing? I really only have a two years of competing in cycling under my belt. I have found that is is even tougher than motocross mentally. I can show up to a race ready to go physically but if my mind isn't there as well it will be tough.
What has been most fulfilling in your time with the team? Really being able to connect with so many people with the same love and passion for cycling as I do.
Were you nervous about joining a team?  Yes. Somewhat, I came in thinking that I would have to keep a set amount of miles or do so good in a race. But its not about that its about being a cycling community.
Why did you choose Team Integrity?  All the great guys and gals on the team make it awesome! It's not just a team its a family of cyclists.
When did you start racing, and were you on a team at the time? I actually didn't start officially racing until I was on this team because I really didn't know where and what all kinds of racing there was to offer.
